About thp docs
A writer who understands what the manual is actually describing.
who is behind thp docs?

THP Docs is run by Cindy Peterman, a licensed nurse and technical writer based in Oregon. The name stands for Technical, Healthcare, and Product documentation – the three areas where translated or poorly written documentation creates the most problems for US sellers, importers, and patients.
Most documentation problems exist because the person writing the content either understood the subject but couldn’t explain it plainly, or could write clearly but had no idea what the product actually does. Cindy brings both. Her clinical background means she understands what a device does, how a patient uses it, and what can go wrong. Her technical writing background means she can explain all of that in plain, US English.
Technical and Clinical experience plus plain-language writing in the same document.
What a Licensed Nurse Brings to Documentation
As an LPN, Cindy has direct hands-on experience with the medical and health devices that dominate the imported product market: blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, TENS units, nebulizers, wound care products, compression therapy devices, and home health monitoring equipment. When she rewrites an IFU or product manual, the result reflects how these products are actually used by real patients and caregivers, not just a cleaned-up version of the original translation.
What a Technical Writer Brings to Documentation
Clear documentation follows a specific structure: one action per step, consequences named in safety warnings, terminology matched to what US consumers actually use, and marketing copy kept out of the instructions. These are learned skills that clinical training alone doesn’t provide. THPdocs applies both clinical accuracy and professional technical writing discipline to every project.
